It is the central element of every business , even more so when you are alone in carrying it out. Your why is nothing other than your life mission or what drives you to get up in the morning. What makes your heart beat? What gives you joy. This is what your why should be based on. And thanks to it, I promise you, you will achieve your goals .
Before we get into it, spoiler alert: making money is not a viable long-term why. You'll soon understand why.
Defining Your Why: The Golden Circle
Have you ever heard of the Golden Circle? This concept was created and popularized by Simon Sinek, which he explains in a Ted conference ( it's in English but there is the script in French ). We will summarize the concept together.

Every company knows its "what", that is to say the belgium whatsapp number data services or products it sells. It knows how to explain how it works, which product/service is best suited to each customer (the "how"). However, very few determine their why . And this is where the difference between a successful company and one that doesn't take off is played out.
This is why making money cannot be your why. It is not the main motivation for creating your business. It is the consequence of your work. You do an activity that you like, that gives meaning to your days, so you make money. And not the other way around.

I'm going to take Simon Sinek's example because I find it very telling: Apple. Why do you think this company has grown so much in recent years? It's not because of the immensely higher quality of their products ( even though I'm an Apple addict, I'm not sure that their equipment is really more efficient than others ). We buy Apple for what we feel when we use one of their products . We share their why: to have innovative, stylish computer equipment that is accessible to all.
This is why Apple revolutionized the world of computing: they made their (future) customers feel emotions.
