How I became a communications officer for positive impact projects

Post by simarahman5835 »

I never hesitated when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I would be a cultural journalist. Then I grew up. I had professional experiences that changed things. And today I have found my path: I am a communications officer for projects with a positive impact!

From journalism to communication
When I was little, I wanted to do every job in the world: cheesemaker, florist, pharmacist, teacher and journalist. This last desire stayed with me for many years. After my ES baccalaureate, I entered the University of Nantes to study literature with an option in information and communication. To complete my training, I opened my blog Aurora Borealis where I wrote about my discoveries, my cultural outings and my travels. For 2 years, I also volunteered for the Blog des Spectateurs . The months went by and my desire to become a journalist did not diminish.

During my Master's degree in Information and korea whatsapp number data Communication, I discovered the world of a radio editorial team for the first time during an eight-week internship. I conducted a few interviews and reports but I mainly dealt with the radio's social networks.

This is my first immersion in the world of communication and a little spark has just been lit.

It would take a few more months and my final internship for it to burn completely within me.

My end-of-study internship, a decisive moment for my career
September 2015. I'm starting my final year of study. Our professors advise us to find an internship in the field we want to work in next. My journalistic flame is on the wane. So I turn to the world I loved the previous year: communications. Several CVs, several cover letters and several interviews later, I land the Holy Grail: an internship as a communications manager for humaid , a brand new social enterprise.

As soon as I arrived, I was thrown in at the deep end. All communication had to be thought out. For the first time, I created a communication strategy from A to Z. I imagined the content to publish on social networks, the tone to adopt. I thought about other ways to make the company known. In a few months, the number of subscribers increased on social networks. Having a good knowledge of the journalistic environment, I also managed press relations. Télématin, the 7:45 p.m. news on M6, Sayyess, We Demain, Up Le Mag, 20 Minutes, Ouest France, France Inter, I got more than thirty press coverages in a few months. Every morning, I wake up with a smile. I love my job and above all I love the ecosystem in which I operate: the social and solidarity economy!
